Straightup was started back in 2004 by myself, "Black", in San Jose, California. I was originally a member of the Notch Ryders which was led by Rudy "top notch", in the late 1990s. Notch Ryders was a sport bike stunt crew that was not recognized by the MC world, just a group of guys who loved the sport and the city's they represented. The Knotch Ryders was disbanded and went their separate ways in 2003, due to many reasons. While some of us still loved the life, I decided to start my own crew to rep for the city I was raised in, San Jose. To me, it was all about protecting what I loved, which was my city. With influence from some of the more advanced stunt riders at the time, I started to slow down my wheelies and scrape some tail! My influences were Pooky, Big Joe Molina, B Dub, and Cruz, from Unlimted Stunt Riders, and also Darius from Darius 240z Servin It Up, Bullo and Big Kris from West Coast Connection,.

While trying to figure out a name that suited us, a friend of mine from Vegas said he thought "straight up", sounded cool, because the bikes were straight up when we would scrape the tail on a wheelie, and so it stuck. I told him I would use the name and it's been that way since 2004. Straight Up started with three guys who are no longer with the crew. One day while riding I met the infamous Chris and his big brother Joe. Chris (who now runs the Straight Up crew), Joe, and I became great friends, more like family. They both stuck with me through out the years and have shown nothing but love and loyalty to Straight Up, holding it down for our city.
